Maria a la Modigliani

After the Modigliani exhibit in Toronto in 2005, I was inspired to draw my daughter in similar style. My intention was to paint her...I still intend to...but life has gotten in the way somewhat.

What I am especially pleased about is that she really likes this drawing of herself with bangs!!!

hey mom. you should make this one a painting, its kind of abstract, so i think doing it in oil with lots of texture and variance of colours in each distinct section would look cool.
maybe ill just do it lol:P

I think this would great as a painting, Lillian....be sure to post a pic when you do it. :)

As for the colour being grey/yellow....did you adjust the Contrast and Brightness after the scan? I usually alter at -40 for Brightness and +20 for Contrast. You can go +25 for Contrast if you want it whiter but you do have to be careful as too much adjustment will take away the detail.

I can see the inspiration. And yeah, it would be great as a painting. Nice work!
